The woman who lost her life in a traffic accident in St. Clair County has been identified. On Thursday, August 12th, the St. Clair County Coroner Office released her name as Amanda Parson, 49, of Adger. Coroner Dennis Russell said the woman died from blunt force injuries at the scene of the traffic accident in St. Clair County at 2:08 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10th.
According to Alabama State Trooper Justin O’Neal, Parson sustained the fatal injuries when a 2013 Infiniti QX56 driven by Michelle Leavitt, 53, of Texas, struck her 2004 Ford Explorer. The collision happened on the southbound lane of Interstate 59 near mile marker 164, five miles west of Ashville.
The trooper said that the victim had been involved in a separate crash that left her car disabled on the roadway moments before the accident. There is currently no information on what caused the first or second accident. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency troopers continue to investigate the accident.
